A boat trip to the world-renowned Tiran Island, sitting at the entrance of the Gulf of Aqaba where powerful currents sweep nutrient-rich water over four spectacular reef systems that rank among the finest snorkeling destinations on Earth. Named after famous explorers and cartographers — Jackson, Woodhouse, Thomas and Gordon — the four reefs of Tiran are each distinct in character, hosting extraordinary coral formations ranging from towering pinnacles draped in sea fans to vast shallow gardens carpeted with table corals, brain corals and staghorn formations in a kaleidoscope of colour. The underwater visibility here regularly reaches 30–45 metres, allowing you to peer across vast distances and watch entire communities of marine life going about their day: reef sharks cruising the sandy channels between coral bommies, sleek eagle rays flapping powerfully past, huge Napoleon wrasse wearing their characteristic green-blue livery, and shoals of surgeonfish, bannerfish and glassfish so dense they block the sunlight. Snorkeling equipment is provided and the guides accompany you in the water, pointing out the best spots and identifying species.
