Sharm El-Sheikh: Sinai Bedouin Culture & Food Tour — Full Day

The Bedouin people of the Sinai Peninsula are the custodians of one of the world's most ancient and coherent desert cultures — a culture built on hospitality, oral knowledge, deep ecological understanding, and a profound relationship with the land that stretches back thousands of years. This full-day cultural journey immerses guests in that world, visiting two Bedouin communities and experiencing the culture from the inside rather than as an outside observer. The day begins at a traditional Bedouin herb garden, where an elder medicinal plant expert demonstrates the medicinal uses of dozens of indigenous Sinai plants — their names, properties, and the traditional remedies passed down through generations. The group then participates in a traditional bread-baking demonstration using the ancient underground oven method, and the finished bread is eaten with locally produced honey, goat cheese, and olive oil. After lunch — a slow-cooked communal meal of seasoned lamb, rice, and salads eaten from shared dishes — the afternoon brings visits to a weaving workshop where Bedouin women demonstrate the intricate patterns and meanings of traditional Sinai textile work. The day concludes with oral storytelling session from a respected Bedouin elder, with simultaneous interpretation.
