Ras Nasrani is one of Sharm El-Sheikh's best-kept secrets — a naturally sheltered lagoon tucked between two rocky headlands that shields snorkelers from open-sea swell and currents. The reef here is exceptionally healthy, with towering table corals, brain corals and fields of branching staghorn that provide a labyrinthine habitat for hundreds of species. Expect to glide over clownfish darting in and out of their anemone homes, pufferfish lazily drifting along the reef wall, vivid parrotfish and surgeonfish, blue-spotted ribbontail rays resting on the sandy floor, and, if you are lucky, a resident sea turtle cruising the shallows. Water visibility regularly exceeds 25 metres. The tour departs from Na'ama Bay by boat — a scenic 20-minute ride. Upon arrival, a professional snorkeling guide gives a thorough safety and technique briefing before leading the group along two snorkeling trails of different depths, catering equally to beginners and experienced snorkelers. All equipment is provided: full-foot fins, hygienic mask and snorkel, and a life vest for those who want extra buoyancy. Suitable for non-swimmers with a life jacket. Children of all ages are welcome, and the calm conditions make this an outstanding family excursion.
