Sharm El Sheikh: PADI Discover Scuba Diving

No experience or certification needed to discover the underwater world on this PADI Discover Scuba Diving programme — the safest and most structured introduction to scuba diving available anywhere in the world. The experience begins at the dive centre with a relaxed but comprehensive theory session covering the fundamental principles of scuba: how to breathe underwater, how to equalise ear pressure during descent, how to communicate with hand signals, and what to do in the unlikely event of any issue. Nothing is rushed and your instructor answers every question with patience and expertise. The pool session follows: waist-deep water where you master the basic skills — clearing your mask, recovering your regulator, controlled breathing — until everything feels second nature and you are smiling with confidence. Then comes the main event: a guided open-water dive at one of Sharm El-Sheikh's signature reef sites, where your PADI-certified instructor stays by your side in a dedicated 1-to-1 ratio throughout. Descending to a maximum depth of six metres, you glide weightlessly over gardens of living coral — purple sea fans, orange fire coral, white staghorn — while parrotfish, grouper, moray eels and anthias go about their day around you. The sense of weightlessness and the extraordinary beauty of the underwater world create a feeling that is difficult to describe until you have experienced it yourself. All equipment is provided and thoroughly maintained: BCD, regulator, wetsuit, fins and mask. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included.
