Jackson Reef is the northernmost of the four legendary reefs that form the Tiran Island chain in the Strait of Tiran, and it is widely regarded by marine biologists and divers as one of the most species-rich and visually spectacular reef systems on the planet. This half-day snorkeling boat trip makes Jackson Reef the centrepiece of its itinerary, navigating the 30-kilometre journey from Sharm El-Sheikh with stops for refreshments along the way before anchoring at the best snorkeling position relative to the reef's shallow plateau. Unlike the steep walls that make Jackson legendary for divers, the upper plateau offers snorkeling depths of 2-8 metres with extraordinary coral density and fish populations — it is genuinely hard to look in any direction without seeing something remarkable. Grey reef sharks cruise the reef edge, barracuda patrol in tight formations, fusiliers and anthias create shimmering clouds of colour, and the coral itself is among the most pristine in the Red Sea. Your guide is in the water with you, directing attention to highlights and ensuring safety. Equipment, a light lunch, and beverages are included.
