Sharm El-Sheikh: Deep Sea Fishing in the Red Sea

The Red Sea is one of the world's great sport-fishing destinations, and this half-day deep-sea fishing trip puts you right in the heart of the action. Departing from Sharm Marina at dawn, the experienced captain navigates to prolific offshore grounds where the deep channel between the Sinai Peninsula and Saudi Arabia concentrates enormous populations of pelagic fish. The primary target species include yellowfin tuna, wahoo, mahi-mahi (dorado), giant trevally, and a variety of snapper and grouper species found along the reef slopes. The boat is a purpose-built 36-foot sport-fishing vessel equipped with downriggers, outriggers, multiple heavy-duty rods, electric reels and a full bait station with fresh-cut bait and lures. The onboard captain and first mate are certified fishing guides who handle all baiting, rigging and netting, so no prior fishing experience is required — though seasoned anglers will appreciate the expert local knowledge. Light tackle spinning, jigging and trolling methods are all available depending on the species being targeted that day. All catch is tagged and released by default, but guests may take one fish for preparation at the marina's partner restaurant. Life jackets, first aid and all safety equipment are on board.
