The Sinai mountain landscape is one of the most ancient and awe-inspiring terrains on earth, and travelling through it on the back of a camel — in the footsteps of the Bedouin peoples who have navigated these paths for thousands of years — is an experience of rare depth and authenticity. This two-day adventure begins with a 4x4 transfer from Sharm El-Sheikh to the mountain staging area, where your camels and Bedouin guide await. The first day's camel trek covers approximately 15 kilometres through dramatic granite mountain terrain, past ancient wells, through narrow mountain passes, and along ridge paths with views that stretch to the Gulf of Aqaba and the distant mountains of Saudi Arabia. Arriving at the Bedouin mountain village as the afternoon light turns golden, you are welcomed by the resident family, shown to your sleeping area in a traditional stone guest house, and served a lavish outdoor dinner of slow-cooked goat, rice, vegetables, and bread cooked over embers. The night sky at this altitude and away from all light pollution is genuinely extraordinary — thousands of stars visible to the naked eye. Day two continues the trek to a scenic viewpoint before return transport to Sharm.
