Sharm El Sheikh: Sea Walk Underwater Helmet Experience

Sea walking with an underwater helmet is the most accessible way to experience the Red Sea's magical underwater world — no swimming ability required, no scuba certification needed, and no anxiety about putting your face in the water. Suitable for ages 8 and up, including non-swimmers, this remarkable activity allows you to walk along the sandy sea floor at a depth of about 3-4 metres, breathing normally through a specially designed weighted helmet that channels a continuous supply of fresh air from the surface. As you walk, the reef comes alive around you. Parrotfish, angelfish, butterflyfish, and sergeant majors swarm around your feet, many completely unbothered by your presence. A trained guide accompanies every participant throughout the 20-minute underwater walk, pointing out sea stars, sea urchins, coral formations, and occasionally a moray eel peering from its rocky den. Before descending, the guide provides a full safety and orientation briefing on the surface platform, and assists with fitting the helmet. You descend a ladder into the warm, crystal-clear water and the transformation is immediate — the sounds of the world above fade, replaced by the gentle crackling of the reef and the pop of snapping shrimp.
